A Safe Stay in Upstate

Updated: Dec 12, 2022

When we reflect on 2020 and consider what humanity has experienced and endured in the past year, we feel compassion in our hearts and a sense of hope on the horizon. We never thought we would cancel our Grand Opening last Spring, even more so we never thought we would close our #littlearthotel for a few months during our first busy season...but we are so grateful that in doing so we kept our {verdigreen} hotels family and potential guests safe from the pandemic. Our thoughts are with the hundreds of thousands of families who have been devastated by the virus and we hope for a positive shift towards healing in 2021.

We are looking forward to vaccines (sign up next door at Village Apothecary) and eventual herd immunity. Until then, rest assured we are providing our guests and team with the safest possible scenario at Twin Gables, following CDC guidelines and New York State protocol. Masks are required inside the inn (except in your private rooms), social distancing is encouraged in the common areas, and instead of a breakfast buffet guests can order room service or chose a set time for their meal so our kitchen stays safely uncrowded. Additionally, we regularly open windows and continuously run our air purifier. High touch surfaces and guest rooms are cleaned with medical grade disinfectants and guests are provided with antibacterial spray in the shared facilities. Hand sanitizer and masks are given to guests upon arrival, as well. If you have any questions about what to expect during your stay, please contact us at 845-679-9479.

If you are choosing to travel during the pandemic, you are assessing the risks and determining what is best for yourself and we appreciate your consideration. Since our little historic Victorian inn is small, we only have 10 rooms booked at any given time, thus there will be less interaction with others in comparison to a large hotel. We have several common areas (our meditation room in the Gables, our Parlor, our kitchen, our fire pit, our Gazebo, and our gardens) so guests can be relatively spread out while not in their rooms. The local businesses in the town of Woodstock have done an excellent job at providing safe shopping and dining, as well. We have a list of recommended restaurants on our app that we provide to all of our guests, however please feel free to ask our Innkeeper during your stay for some options.

Thank you for your support during our first year of business! While Twin Gables is the oldest operating hotel in Woodstock (almost 100 years!) we are new to its ownership and strive to honor its rich history while providing our guests with an experiential and safe stay. Here's to a healthy 2021! We hope to see you soon.
